Monitoring of the situation on human rights is a responsibility of the Ombudsman for human rights in the Russian Federation and his staff. The Ombudsman for human rights expresses his vision of the situation concerning human rights through annual reports on his activities. Thus, the source for such information was visits to regions of the Russian Federation.
— The Russian Federation is a party of many international agreements, including agreements on human rights, — commented a co-chairman of RPO “Human being and Law» Sergey Poduzov. — It’s important that there are various instruments for the protection of human rights, for example some people have a right to free access to closed facilities at any time of day. Certainly, such visits of the representative of the Office of the Ombudsman for human rights in the Russian Federation show the authorities that their employees should always be prepared for such visits and should not wait for the arrival of international observers, and but solve problems at the moment of their appearance.
The results of visits to IVS of Mari El Republic are submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mari El Republic for appropriate administrative actions.
